In Nelson's voice: Haha!Looked like baby food. Actually, didn't see one plate besides Kevin's that look substantial for a main. Where were the proteins? Crikey, they are CHEFS, they should be able to cook anything! ANybody ever hear of quinoa?
"yeah, whatever, whatever, it is what it is, whatever...."Just shut up. you are just babbling. Now go home.
You know Diva, I looked at all those plates after the show last night and you are exactly right. Eli's dish was only a bit more substantial because he had the larger eggplants. His "salad" was silly and spread out across the plate. Bryan's wasn't much better than Jen's.Compare last night's offerings vs. the Top Chef Master's offerings for their much more restrictive Vegetarian challenge.Oh and Mike I.? Don't let the door hit cha on the way out.
I didn't see this episode either (World Series Game - Go Phills) but I get the gist of what happened. Karma - it's a bitch.
Sweet, sweet Karma.
With the exception of Kevin's dish, I thought everything looked very gag me with a spoon. These folks need to quit trotting out Le Celebretards with Food Issues and trying to pass them off as foodies. "Hey, look at me! I'm a walking poster child for culinary multi-culturalism! I love all tastes and textures and styles of cooking! Just one lil' ol' hitch: I don't eat meat. Or sugar. Or wheat. Or while sitting down every third Thursday facing east."Come on. Put whatever restrictions around your food intake you want. I don't care. Just don't try and pass yourself off as someone who knows a rat's bottom about food.
Moi: grrrrrrr!!! tee hee!
Buh Bye MikeI kept wondering if the chefs had never heard of grains or pasta.(or did I miss something about no grains or pasta?)I think some kind of interesting veggie (there was soooo much to choose from) lasagna or an awesome curry, rice and veggies would have been wonderful. Soup. No one seemed to use potatoes either.
It could have been that deliberately didn't stock any in Tom's restaurant. Sounds like the kind of crappy move they'd try. However you're right about the potatoes, what steak house doesn't have potatoes?
Come on--no one here could make pasta from scratch??!! and I don't care if they didn't have a pasta machine--the best Italian cooks refuse to use one. Even I could have dashed off a mushroom lasagna that would have killed.
When one can't successfully cook leeks, handmade pasta just won't fly.
The lack of pasta or potatoes is odd. Odd that no one (chefs, diners, or judges) even mentioned it either. Also why no cheese, cream sauces, or eggs? She's vegetarian, not vegan. One of the brothers V said he was using butter so the lacto ship had sailed.Frankly short of some kind of producer manipulation, they all failed.
'zactly! Sham, we had more creative veggie ideas going for main dishes for our pumpkin/squash DSS than these clowns!!! Veggie lasagna? Risotto? Soup? Also of note: Tom's face clouded over when Mikey was complaining about a warped pan in Craft's kitchen....Tommy no likey that remarky! haha!
I sincerely hope for justice in the universe that Michael V. does not win over Bryan V. If that occurs, Bryan will never have a moment's peace. Little Bro will rub it in every chance he gets.
