I love how Eli admitted he still lived at home with his parents! Of course, many of us COULD live with our parents and NOT pay rent but we choose not to burden them by mooching off them and being self-sufficient adults. Mega-douche-bag!!!
Diva - that scene where he admits living at home, Bravo editing really didn't flatter him at all. All I saw was a short, overweight, never-been-on-a-date, living-at-home momma's boy. And then he starts whining. After that performance, the only way he ever gets married (or layed for that matter) is if his family buys him a bride from the Phillipines or Russia. Did he eat those scallops right out of the pan in front of everyone? And Mike I. hopefully just torpedoed his career with his childish comments. These 2 are the new Spike and Ilan.
Methinks it's mostly the editing and the other Chefs who aren't arses (Jen, Kevin, Bryan) actually got along okay with Eli and Mike from Joisey. I get the feeling Jen doesn't like Robin either.
Really don't think it's fair to put Eli and Mike in the ILAN category just yet.
According to the AJC, Kevin STILL gets along okay with Eli. If you can still get along with someone after being on Top Chef with them, they must have SOME sort of redeeming qualities the editors aren't showing.
I don't know, I don't think we want to be rewarding these guys for that kind of behavior. I think their careers crashing and burning after these episodes air will be reward enough. Although he doesn't look the part of TC as much as Bryan or Jen, Kevin is a gentleman and has mad cooking skills. If he doesn't monumentally screw up or get tossed on a technicality (which Bravo has done in the past), he's got this locked up - IMHO. I think Bravo is starting to throw other cheftestants a bone on some of the wins (Eli in the quickfire last night for example) just to keep everyone interested.

Tsk. Still mis-using my beloved Fuzzi Bunz in service of covering whiny chef butts. Tsk tsk tsk. Sposies for those posers!

Yeah, I'm not sure that's the image you want of your Top Chef Winner, Lives at Home with Mom and Dad.
Not to mention being a big whiny baby.

Now there's a goal to acheive, to be the next Ilan and Spike.
Ew. Buzzy your post made me feel like I was right there in the episode. Shudder. LOL
Hint to the remaining to-be-eliminated chefs. If you want to be fan favorite, go "culinary" on (stab) Mike I. and Eli. You'll be a mortal lock.
Buzzkill, you said exactly what I was thinking! Haha! Bride from Russia, fo' sho'! :)
Gawd, I can't standz whiny "men!"
While I still think Jen is going to take it all, Kevin is the man to beat and I could see his taking both Top Chef and Fan Fave.
I think Top Chef should have a Fan Unfavorite (Biggest Asshole) award along with Fan Favorite. I think they would get a TON more text voting.

Sorry but for the cancer comments alone, Eli goes into the Ilan category.
I think Kevin is a very polite well mannered adult man. That he still gets along with Eli says more about Kevin than it does about Eli.
