Holiday Shopping Possibilities

Have you noticed that Williams Sonoma is becoming the Toys R Us for cooks, introducing fun and new stuff just in time for holiday shopping season? This is one of their offerings. The Mini Pie Maker.

Mark this the end of the whole cupcake phase, say hello to the personal pie craze. The great thing about this little gizmo is that you can make four different pies, keeping peace in your family between the cherry pie freaks and peach pie snobs. Not to mention making your own designer chicken pot pies (take that Swanson and Stouffers!).

So, what say you readers? Is this something you'd be excited to see under your Christmas tree or will you be returning it for store credit to buy even more attachments to your Kitchen Aid stand mixer?

That damn thing costs eighty bucks.

I disagree. I don't think W-S is becoming ToysRUs, I think it's becoming As Seen On TV.

OTOH, if someone who had this contraption wanted to make me pies with it, I wouldn't turn them down.

Damn girl, when was the last time you were in a Williams Sonoma? Eighty bucks is a steal. Don't even wander over into the cast iron section. (MY PRECIOUS!)

I prefer Sur la Table, but we don't have one here. So I have to make do with Williams and Snottyoma. However, funny that you posted this. Because S.B. travels so much he has a million points on his business credit card, which means we now have a million points at W&S, which means I might buy this pretty little pie press. But not before I buy this, which I have wanted for ever and ever, more than anything else: http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/mauviel-copper-zabaglione-pot/?pkey=e|copper%2Bwhisking%2Bpot|130|best|0|all|24||12&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-NoMerchRules-_-

Moi feels about copper pots the way MS feels about cast iron. Kitchen freaks.

You know how I feel about tiny pies, so I'm actually interested in this contraption.

I'm with Moi, Sur La Table is my favorite new toy store, and I'm LUCKY because it started in Seattle so I have many to pick from.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sur la Table was how Shamu prevented me from wasting all our time in Nieman's. "Look, Moi! Blingy kitchen gear!" Sniff. Memories.

Yep. I'd haul that home. $80 is fair.

BUT, copper is King, Emperor of may kitchen heart. ( I do have some mean cast iron tho--even granny's inherited pieces!)

Gobble gobble!
Happy Thanksgivin' Shamy!

No room for gadgets in my kitchen, much prefer a potato ricer. Like a bread maker, this gadget would spell disaster in our house (and for my waistline!) I can see the DJ trying to make something late one night involving cheese and more cheese....

well..... it looks like it works... those are your own pics right? ....

maybe I'm needing me some "blingy kitchen gear"... of course, that is after I chuck my CuisinArt mixer and get a Kitchen Aid again .... sans all the attachments...
Who needs 'em? not me...I know I wouldn't use them. But, I DO want Kitchen Aid once again!!!!!!!! never should have given away my little Snow White... even if she was only 250 watts...she kneaded bread dough like a trouper....what a fool I was to even try CuisinArt.....pout...........

Heck no Bumblevee, those are product shots from Williams Sonoma.

Were you heavily medicated when you dumped your Kitchen Aid for Cusinart?
