Team Lesbian Has Left the Building

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaanh. OK not so heart broken over Jamie finally losing her Teflon coating but I am sorry to see Tiff leave.

The moment she said Jamie was the weakest member of the team and that she would try and stay away from her I knew she was a goner. While they still reward good dishes but weak team play (see last week's elim with Dale and Angelo) they never really save weak team play and weak dishes. I think Tiffani is a great chef, she just didn't have a very strong game this time around. I hope she finds that perfect spot to land for her passion and talent.

Jamie, on the other hand, didn't do herself any favors with her run here on Top Chef All Stars. Constantly telling the camera you don't really care may be honest but will give your real world customers pause at eating at your restaurant. People like to see you have passion and dedication to your craft. Not aloofness. However that does mean we have a vacancy for the Villain Chef. Any suggestions on who is best suited for that role?

Oh, there's always Marcel as default mini-me-villain. We laughed at Tre's comment about him.

Still hard to see anyone go!

Froggy it's only going to get harder and harder.

Well naturally. So was I. What.

I could tell Jamie was gone but I thought Marcel was gone too. I was thinking they had to eliminate one from each team and Marcel got a whole lot of face time - the bravo editing kiss of death.

I also knew the way they were harping on the bloodline in the blue fish that someone was going down for it. I'm glad it wasn't Carla who gave yet another strong performance.

Captain Obvious says:

Eric Ripert saw Jamie flopping around like a Bluefish out of water this season.

Jamie has had problems all season cooking seafood for who knows what reason.

Eric Ripert makes an offer to Jamie:

Captain Obvious thinks that Jamie should be thrown into the lion's den with Marco Pierre White instead.

I'm not sure Jamie would take that offer. When Top Chef first started, one of the things Tiffani said she wanted to do with the Season One prize money if she won was to travel around Europe, doing stages with experienced chefs. It appears now the attitude of the contestants seems to be that they are too good to do such things. There's something to be said for learning all you can from an expert in your profession. Could be a life changer.

That video was not only sweet on Eric's part, it showed his knowledge and generosity combined. Frankly, I was mesmerized and it wasn't just the accent!! I agree that it's unlikely that Jamie would take him up on his offer, but I would think if she would she'd learn a lot and, probably to her surprise, also have a wonderful experience.
