Lamb with anchovies – yum! But are those some kind of mutant form of Brussels sprouts I spy? NYET! Hope you ladies had a wonderfully tasty Easter!

Looks like lamb was on all our minds! That leg o' lamb looks beaut, JJ,very Italian to cook with anchovies, I never would have thought of it with lamb. Don't understand the brussels sprout comment, they look yummy and normal to me!

Sham, what a great idea. I didn't know there was a Guiness draft instead of the stout? Interesting. Jeez, La Diva loves her meat and potatoes, could eat this for breakfast!

Looks like everyone had a lovely dinner! Happy Spring!

Thanks, Diva - the brussels sprouts and crimini mushrooms were tossed with shallots and peppers, doused in olive oil, and roasted at a high temperature. Amazing flavor from the carmelization!

Anything tastes good when you caramelize it...even beets! haha!

Ladies

Sorry I was a non-participant this week. The appetizers I made for my sister's Easter dinner didn't look all that great, but they all went. And the boy was Xboxing all weekend, so he was no help at all. I didn't take any pictures either, I was really pressed for time.

Easter dinner at my sisters consited of honey glazed ham (from Heavenly Ham), potatoe casserole, green bean casserole, corn and cole slaw. All family traditions. I made some French Honey bread in the bread maker but it didn't rise very well (yeast was old and I rolled the dice). And we had 3 or 4 wines that were all very good. Not to mention tons of candy. My other sister made traditional cheese cake cupcakes with cherry topping that came out very good (I got some leftovers).

Java - I like the lamb dish with the roasted vegatables. Not sure about the anchovies, but I'll try anything once.

Big Shamu - 3 hours in the oven that lamb must have been really tender. And mashed potatoes and peas, excellent. I will say the picture of the lamb in the parchment paper kind of reminds me of a diaper - sorry but it does.

Nice job all. We'll see about the next challenge.

SNORT - a diaper???

I guess it's all in one's perspective.

Yes, it was tender and delicious.

Buzz, the anchovies just melt away into the meat, leaving a lovely savory flavor and only the faintest of hints of the wee fishes that were.

Well, I finally posted my photos and Easter dinner, full of garlic and gusto, it was rich and not for the faint-hearted!
