We Like It Raw

Going on a bit of a Blog Break to clear out some sluginess. Thank you to all who have voted for my essay over on Tony's site. We still have roughly month and a half to go before voting ends and then it's BACON for everyone.

I did not take this picture of bacon....but I wish I had.

Well Father Tony has gone and done it again, written another book.

Picture 33

I wonder if it's good beach reading? As part of his massive publicity machine, Tony has devised a contest to find a contributor to his paperback edition of Medium Raw. Not only does Tony have Fame awaiting you, he also has Fortune in the form of a $10,000 check. All you have to do is write 500 words to answer this question: What does it mean to cook food well?

The exocist

Father Tony would know a little something about that. Yours truly, not being so much a fame whore but totally open to accepting checks with many zeros has plopped down her own 500 words but in reality would feel a whole lot better if this had been a Photochop Contest.

Buy the book and vote for my essay and I promise I'll never Photochop your head onto the body of a goat. Because I can, you know I can.

  1. Awesome! Alternatively, you could offer the prize of having one's head photochopped on any creature of their choosing if you win based on their votes.

    Just sayin.

    Go Shamy!

    LOL

FYI for the group: you can create accounts for as many email addresses as you have, and vote once a day from each email address. Just sayin.

  5. Thanks Dani. Do you think Kraft will be voting for me?

  6. Heh. If you win, you should insist on an accompanying photochoppy illustration.

I'm gonna toss my two cent's worth in as well. Cause 10,000 smackers would come in awfully handy right about now. As would the possibility of salivating over Bourdain.

  7. I'll leave the salivating to you Moi.

(I can photochop that if you like...)

Will you be writing your 500?

  10. Hmmmm, not so sure about the 500 words. It's such a broad topic. I think going at it from a personal angle - as you did, Shamy - is the way to go. Haven't come up with one myself yet, but we'll see.

  11. Most excellent Eggy, let us know when you've hit upon just the right 500 words.

  12. I'm behind you all the way pal and I'm wondering if you could photoshop some curves where I don't have them and take a few wrinkles out at the same time?

  13. You know I can. Much cheaper than plastic surgery and implants.

  16. Thanks Aunty. Don't expect to win but sometimes it's good to challenge yourself. There are much better writers out there who will win this.
