Celebration

peeled peaches

You know why I like peach pie better than apple pie? Peeling peaches is so much easier. Drop your peaches in boiling water from 30 to 45 seconds, depending on the ripeness of the fruit, and those skins will slip right off. Easy peasy.

While I continue my peach pie zen please enjoy these wonderful addition to our obsession to bacon cracktasm. Bacon Turtles created by the Marquis de Meat

  2. Hmmm. That boiling of the peaches tip is a new one on me - thanks! And of course I love the bacon turtles :) Although I'm having kind of a seafood menu so far this weekend.

Shamy, last night, in your honor I had a heaping bowl of blackberries and peaches (with a little ice cream and some sweet & spicy rosemary walnuts). Oh, my.

Can't wait to see more of your pie!

  6. Look at those pretty peaches! Can't wait to hear about the pie . . .

Dani, I made peach/blueberry pie this weekend and found the blueberries overwhelmed the peach flavor. So I'm not sure I'll be mixing fruits in the future (a fruit tart is another story, though). Did you find that happened with your cobbler?
