Thank you.
Oh. No. I love this magazine. Truly sad. I need to go nab my mother's hoard of old back issues and have a good cry, too.
ReplyDeleteWHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
ReplyDeleteI liked Gourmet because the recipes were geared a little more toward the average home cook as opposed to Bon Appetit (in my opinion anyway). There's still epicurious.com with all of the Gourmet and Bon Appetit recipes to date.
ReplyDeleteIt's just not the same Buzz. Big glossy pictures. Having the magazine in the kitchen while you're cooking.
ReplyDeleteWAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
My condolences!
ReplyDeleteLOL..........
ReplyDeleteSo sorry Shamy. :(
ReplyDeleteWhile out to dinner last night with my brother/BIL, this was the main topic. They both love it and unlike ME, can actually cook. :-(.
ReplyDeleteBummer!!! Selling print advertising is tough, tough, tough these days as there is so much more competition for the ad dollar.
ReplyDeleteAt my friend's urging, I bought a subscription to Cooking Light a few years ago and hated the magazine because of the ugly layout and all the prescription ads. (with right page reads, I might ad) I suppose they've had to whore themselves out to the pharmy companies to pay the bills. Next time you see yet another ad on TV for Pharmececuticals, look and see, it will say "See our ad in Cooking Light!" Very sad all 'round.
What do you think of Saveur? I used to work for the same publisher but never heard of it before that.
